The combination of ordinary things which when combined together will create an exceptional impact on viewers in some ways. This project focuses on the use of geometric shapes, exploring knitting structures to make the basic shapes stronger, inspired by an optical illusion effect. Using repetitive shapes and color assimilation theory to find the most effective way to create illusions. This means that viewers might need to step closer or step further away in order to activate the effects. The viewers’ perception of this piece kind of depends on what their eyes see and what their brain tells, with these two perspectives, each person will have different feelings toward each piece.

This project is a part of my master's degree course. I work as a team along with other students. As a collaborative team member with our Finnish partner.

This collection is inspired by Omyakon, the coldest city in the world. Imitating snow textures and free-form shapes by various techniques. Starting from drawing, open screening, and block screening to experiment with different forms of snow. Then, rearrange them and print them out in textured fabric and sheer fabric to get a lightweight and soft look that resembles the snow. This process was created in 2017. 4 years later, I decided to develop the sample fabrics to the next step by patchworking them into a blanket. And design a look, by taking pictures of the experimental prints on sheer fabric to create a sheer look printed on a coat for those who want to wear light in winter.
